ABC Local Plan 2042

Ashford Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the borough and is inviting local communities to get involved in the process.

The Local Plan Consultation closed on 18 October 2025; it opened on Monday 18 August 2025. Westwell Parish Council held two open evenings for residents at Westwell Village Hall. This was to enable parishioners to find out more about the consultation and make informed comment themselves.

Westwell Parish Council also commented on the Plan. The four separate comments it submitted are hosted below for you to click on and read in their full detail.

Also below are links to the leaflet setting out What is a Local Plan and FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) and a link to an easy-watch video that explains more.

Print copies of the Local Plan and all the supporting documents are available to view online via the consultation portal here https://haveyoursay.ashford.gov.uk/draft-lp42-consultation .

Should you have any questions or queries regarding this consultation, please contact the Plan-Making & Infrastructure Team via [email protected]
